Job summary

Locum Ready is seeking a proactive Healthcare Assistant (HCA) to support a GP practice in Dundee. The role focuses on routine procedures, patient assessments and day-to-day treatment room activity within an organised primary care environment.

You will help manage patient flow and assist with core clinical duties to ensure smooth sessions. The position is suitable for individuals who can work ad-hoc or regular weekly sessions, with morning or afternoon availability.

Qualifications

• Prior HCA experience in primary care or the NHS.
• Phlebotomy experience desirable.
• Comfortable carrying out clinical observations.
• Good communication and patient interaction skills.
• Basic IT competence for clinical system documentation.
• Enhanced DBS

Responsibilities

• Performing observations including BP, pulse, temperature and oxygen saturation
• Supporting with treatment room procedures
• Phlebotomy and sample handling (if trained)
• Completing ECGs and assisting with routine patient assessments
• Providing lifestyle advice and supporting health promotion
• Updating patient records accurately in the clinical system
• Assisting clinicians with general tasks as required
