Job summary

Fresh Start Waste Services is seeking a Health, Safety & Compliance Advisor to join our Manchester team on a part-time basis. You will provide practical, hands-on support to managers across the business, promoting a positive safety culture and helping integrate safe practices into daily operations.

Working closely with the MRF Operations & Compliance Manager, you will deliver advice, coordinate inspections, review risk assessments, and support ISO management systems to maintain high safety

Qualifications

• NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent is required.
• Experience providing practical Health & Safety support within an operational environment.
• Good knowledge of UK Health & Safety legislation.
• Full UK driving licence is essential.

Responsibilities

• Providing practical Health & Safety and compliance advice to managers
• Supporting safe systems of work and promoting a positive safety culture
• Carrying out planned Health & Safety inspections and internal compliance audits
• Coordinating workplace inspections across company sites
• Reviewing risk assessments, COSHH assessments and Safe Systems of Work
• Coordinating statutory compliance requirements, including fire safety and electrical inspections
• Supporting investigations into accidents, near misses and environmental incidents
• Identifying root causes and helping ensure corrective actions are completed
• Coordinating Health & Safety training and delivering Toolbox Talks where appropriate
• Supporting employee inductions and coaching managers and supervisors
• Helping maintain Health, Safety and Environmental Management Systems, including ISO 45001 and ISO 14001
• Monitoring relevant legislative changes and supporting regulatory inspections
• Maintaining compliance records and producing clear reports, statistics and KPI information
• Identifying opportunities to improve safety, compliance and working practices across the business
