Job summary

Virgin Active in London is seeking a Part-Time Group Exercise Coordinator to lead the instructor team, deliver engaging classes, and build a commercially strong timetable that inspires members to live an active life.

You will recruit, audition and coach instructors, monitor performance metrics, and collaborate with PT and events to ensure a seamless member experience while maintaining health and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Level 3 Personal Training and Group Exercise qualification.
• Proven experience running a successful group exercise timetable.
• A genuine passion for health, wellness and delivering world-class experiences.
• Strong leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and develop a diverse instructor team.
• Commercial awareness and confidence interpreting performance data.
• Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
• A proactive, solutions-focused mindset.
• The ability to thrive in a fast-paced, target-driven environment.

Responsibilities

• Support the execution and optimisation of a balanced, engaging and commercially strong group exercise timetable.
• Deliver own classes with energy, creativity and unreasonable hospitality.
• Recruit, audition and onboard high-quality instructors, building a talented and motivated team.
• Coach and develop instructors through regular feedback and professional development opportunities.
• Coordinate workshops, masterclasses and themed events that increase participation and revenue.
• Maintain quality control by auditing sessions and ensuring consistently high standards and compliance with health & safety and statutory requirements.
• Monitor attendance, occupancy and performance metrics to identify opportunities for improvement.
• Act as a visible ambassador on the gym floor, building strong and genuine member relationships.
• Minimise cancellations and ensure operational excellence across the programme.
• Collaborate with PT, Events and wider club teams to deliver a seamless member experience.
