Job summary

Practice Plus Group is seeking a General Practitioner to join the Primary Care team at HMP Dovegate in Staffordshire. The role involves reception duties, urgent same‑day meds, duty referrals, leavers meds and substance misuse withdrawal programmes, working with nurses and non‑medical prescribers to deliver high‑quality care.

Working 23 hours per week on a 3‑week rolling rota with two long days, the role offers a competitive salary up to £125,693 FTE.

Qualifications

• MBChB or MBBS medical degree and GMC registration.
• Inclusion on GMC Register and GP Performers List.
• Evidence of engagement with annual appraisal.
• Experience as a GP in community general practice.
• Evidence of continuing professional development.
• Ability to work with patients with a history of substance misuse.
• RCGP Certificate in Substance Misuse 1 and 2, or willingness to undertake.

Responsibilities

• Deliver first class healthcare to a diverse group of patients, expanding knowledge beyond standard practice.
• Provide clinical assessment and diagnosis to patient requirements with timely decisions.
• Act as a highly specialist resource to other healthcare team members on site.
• Involvement in clinical governance and effectiveness activities.
