Part-time freelance press relations role (German speaker)

About the role: London-based public relations agency, ThoughtSpark, is seeking a German-speaking freelancer or part-time support for press relations work for clients in the financial services and medical device sectors.

Responsibilities:

1. Media relations: Liaising with journalists to secure press coverage and building strong relationships with media contacts.
2. Copywriting: Collaborating with the team to proof and edit content, including press releases, articles, case studies, and social media posts.
3. Research: Conducting desk research for press materials and supporting team members with information gathering.
4. Account administration: Reporting activities and managing press cuttings.

You’ll do well in this role if you:

1. Have excellent German writing skills (C2 level).
2. Have some experience in press relations, media, or journalism (desired but not essential). Are you proactive in seeking and securing coverage opportunities? Do you suggest new angles for pitches?
3. Possess strong verbal and written communication skills. Can you confidently liaise with team members, clients, and journalists?
4. Are highly organized. Are you adept at prioritization and time management?
5. Have a proactive, independent work approach. Do you propose solutions proactively and take initiative?

Hourly rate: TBC

Hours: Minimum 15 hours per week, flexible based on workload.
