Job summary

Sodexo is hiring a Forklift & Waste Operative at Reading (RG2 0QE). This part-time role is 30 hours per week, Monday to Friday, paid at £12.71 per hour. You will support waste management, operate forklift equipment, clean and maintain areas, and follow safety procedures to keep operations running smoothly.

Qualifications

• Understanding COSHH and RAMS, with a commitment to health and safety procedures.
• Physically fit for heavy lifting and manual handling; experience with pallet trucks and other equipment; holds a counterbalance forklift licence.

Responsibilities

• Waste management & recycling: stack and wrap cardboard; keep areas clean; move waste safely around site.
• Operate waste management machinery including ride-on scrubber dryers and forklifts.
• Clean external areas, walkways, car parks, windows; perform pressure washing as needed.
• Follow COSHH assessments, RAMS, site procedures and site-lead instructions.
• Identify and report hazards, manage spillages, maintain clean, safe working areas.
• Complete and maintain records; submit waste notes to the Cleaning & Waste Manager; support the team.
