Job summary

Sodexo is hiring a Food Service Assistant at Crown Bevcan in Carlisle. This part-time role covers 21 hours per week with a 4 on, 4 off pattern, including weekday mornings and weekend mornings. You will support food preparation, serve breakfast, and maintain high food safety standards while delivering excellent customer service.

Join a corporate catering team and help ensure smooth weekend breakfast service. The role requires reliability, teamwork, and a flexible approach to shifts and tasks.

Qualifications

• Previous catering, hospitality or food service experience.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Good understanding of food hygiene and health & safety.
• Strong organisation and time management skills.
• Ability to remain calm during busy service periods.
• High attention to detail.
• A professional, reliable and flexible approach.
• Physically able to carry out catering duties, including standing for extended periods and manual handling.
• Desirable: Level 2 Food Safety qualification

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve breakfast and fresh food to a high standard.
• Deliver weekend breakfast service independently.
• Prepare and replenish the salad bar.
• Set up, clean and reset dining and service areas.
• Complete food safety, temperature and allergen checks.
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene.
• Replenish vending machines and monitor stock levels.
• Complete food safety and due diligence records.
• Support sustainable waste and recycling practices.
• Deliver professional customer service.
• Follow all food safety, allergen and health & safety procedures.
