Job summary

Yolk Recruitment is assisting a forward-thinking SME in Cardiff to appoint a commercially minded Financial Controller on a part-time basis, two days per week. The role is hands-on yet strategic, partnering with senior stakeholders to shape reporting, insight and the future direction of the business.

You will lead the day-to-day finance function, manage budgets and forecasts, develop and coach the Finance Assistant, and work with Xero to streamline processes while expanding financial planning

Qualifications

• Qualified or QBE with strong practical Financial Controller experience.
• Experience in an SME or growing business with ownership of the finance function.
• Strong in management reporting, analysis and business partnering.
• Commercially minded with ability to turn financial information into actionable insight.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day finance function and manage the finance team.
• Produce accurate and insightful management reporting and financial information.
• Partner with senior stakeholders to provide commercial insight and support decision-making.
• Support strategic financial planning and development of the business (budgets/forecasts).
• Coach and develop the Finance Assistant and other junior staff.
