Job summary

Yolk Recruitment is seeking a part-time Financial Controller in Cardiff to take ownership of the financial reporting function and act as a trusted business partner to senior leadership. The role offers hands-on financial leadership in a growing SME, with 2 office days per week and close collaboration across the business.

Qualifications

• Qualified or QBE with strong FC experience.
• Experience in SME or growing business with ownership of the finance function.
• Strong management reporting, analysis and business partnering.
• Commercially minded with ability to turn financial information into actionable insight.
• Experience working with B2B customers across Europe.
• Comfortable using Xero.
• Confident communicator with senior stakeholders and non-finance teams.
• Experience coaching junior finance talent.
• Based within commuting distance of Cardiff; role office-based 2 days per week.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day finance function.
• Produce accurate management reporting and financial information.
• Partner with senior stakeholders to provide commercial insight.
• Support strategic financial planning and development of the business.
• Manage budgets, forecasts and financial performance.
• Improve financial processes, controls and reporting.
• Coach and develop a Finance Assistant.
• Support relationships with B2B clients across Europe and overseas markets.
• Work with Xero to maintain and develop finance processes.
