Job summary

North Yorkshire Police & North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service is seeking an Accounting Technician to join the Finance Team on a permanent, part-time basis. The role supports core accounting functions and requires at least an AAT qualification or equivalent experience in finance.

Hybrid work is available with hybrid working options from Headquarters in Northallerton. The successful candidate will process transactions, assist with year-end activities, budget monitoring, and month-end tasks,

Qualifications

• Part-time role with 18.5 hours per week.
• AAT qualification or equivalent experience in finance.
• Strong accuracy and ability to meet deadlines.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate financial records across the finance function.
• Process accounting transactions and assist year-end activities.
• Support annual budget and in-year monitoring.
• Process journals, virements, and forecasts in Oracle.
• Provide service reporting and assist with month-end reconciliations.
