Our Client is a well-established sales and distribution business in Bridgend, part of a global organisation.
With a supportive Director and a dedicated Accounts Assistant, this standalone role is your chance to make a real impact-accurate reporting, clear insights, and dependable controls.
What you'll be doing:
- Prepare monthly management accounts and reporting packs
- Produce and analyse Profit & Loss and Balance Sheets, turning numbers into meaningful commentary
- Complete balance sheet reconciliations and control account reconciliations
- Manage stock accounting, including adjustments and opening/closing valuations, plus inventory reconciliations
- Prepare and post journals; support accruals and prepayments accounting
- Maintain and manage fixed asset registers
- Account for VAT-preparing and submitting returns
- Support sales reporting and commercial analysis
- Handle foreign currency transactions and reporting where required
- Assist with budgeting and forecasting activities
- Produce ad hoc financial reports for the UK Director
- Act as the key finance contact during external audits
- Support compliance with accounting standards, company policies and internal controls
- Supervise and support the Accounts Assistant What you'll bring:
- Strong experience in a Finance Manager / Accounts Manager / Senior Management Accountant role
- Confident, up-to-date knowledge across management accounts, balance sheet reconciliations, journals, VAT returns and fixed assets
- Experience with stock/inventory accounting and inventory reconciliations
- Strong Excel skills, with the ability to interpret financial information and present insights clearly
- Comfortable working independently with minimal supervision-and taking ownership of decisions
- Experience supervising or mentoring a junior finance staff member
- A proactive, detail-oriented mindset with the confidence to challenge and improve processes Additional information:
- Part-time: 20 hours per week, flexible around school runs and other commitments
