Job summary

Brook Street in Coventry is seeking a compassionate Family Support Worker to join a specialist service supporting women, children and families affected by domestic abuse. This part-time role offers practical and emotional support to help families improve safety and independence.

You will manage a caseload, develop tailored support plans, liaise with Social Care and partner agencies, and maintain confidential records while safeguarding children and vulnerable adults.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting vulnerable families, children or individuals.
• Experience within family support, domestic abuse, social care or community services.
• Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection.
• Strong communication and advocacy skills.
• Experience managing a caseload and support planning.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Good IT and record‑keeping skills.
• Understanding of equality, diversity and inclusion.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-to-one support to women, children and families.
• Complete needs assessments, risk assessments and support plans.
• Support families affected by domestic abuse and other complex challenges.
• Safeguard children and vulnerable adults.
• Advocate on behalf of service users with partner agencies.
• Support access to housing, education, healthcare and community services.
• Work closely with Social Care, schools and external professionals.
• Maintain accurate and confidential case records.
• Contribute to positive outcomes for families and children.
