Job summary

South Lanarkshire Council is looking for two permanent janitorial assistants to support cleaning across various sites in the South Lanarkshire area. The role is 19 hours per week on a term-time basis, with shifts from 6pm to 9:30pm on weekdays and 8am to 4pm at the weekend.

You will be responsible for ensuring safe, tidy grounds, monitoring lessees and contractors, logging damage and faults, and liaising with external teams while upholding health and safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Ensuring unit grounds are kept in a safe and tidy order, free from dangerous articles ensuring Health and safety of staff and visitors.
• To monitor the activities of lessee’s and contractors reporting any issues to line manager.
• To log, monitor and report all damage/faults in relation to the fabric and fixtures.
• To liaise with external contractors and lessee’s, ensuring all Health and Safety and security procedures are adhered to.
• To effectively communicate with the Facilities Manager; Head of Establishment/Lessee’s and Team Members to ensure the customer needs are met on a daily basis.
