SGC Security Services Company seeks an Event Steward to help secure major events at Newmarket racecourse. This part-time role runs seasonally, with evenings and weekends as required, and may involve traveling to different venues.

You will present a smart, visible presence, conduct safety checks, greet attendees, monitor for prohibited items, and report incidents or emergencies. The role includes training opportunities and competitive pay with PAYE benefits.

Qualifications

• Experience reporting incidents and dealing with emergencies.
• Ticket checking and crowd management tasks.
• Willingness to complete Level 2 Spectator Safety qualification (training provided).

Responsibilities

• Present a smart, visible security presence at events.
• Perform pre- and post-event safety checks.
• Greet and direct attendees and answer questions.
• Ensure no prohibited items enter secured zones.
• Monitor crowd movements and escalate concerns.
• Report incidents and respond to emergencies.
