Job summary

Together Housing Group is hiring a Clear & Clean Operative to join our estate services team in Halifax. The role involves preparing empty homes, completing final cleans, and performing garden work to ready properties for new residents.

The position is part‑time, 2 days per week (Thursday 8:00–16:00 and Friday 8:00–15:30). Applicants should have cleaning or caretaking experience and a valid UK driving licence. We support a diverse, inclusive workforce and offer a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Hold a valid Full UK Driving Licence.
• Experience in Cleaning or Caretaking.
• Experience working in a customer‑orientated environment with flexible hours.
• Knowledge of cleaning/caretaking equipment and machinery.
• Knowledge of the Health and Safety at Work Act and site safety.
• Good literacy and numeracy for accurate record keeping.

Responsibilities

• Prepare empty homes by conducting property clearances, final cleans, and garden work.
• Perform waste management, sorting, and identify furniture for upcycling to the Re-Use offer.
• Collect deliveries and keep the depot clean and obstruction‑free.
• Motivate staff, volunteers, placements, trainees, and apprentices to provide high‑quality service.
• Support all areas of the department, including Mobile Cleaning, Estate Services Team, and Grounds Maintenance.
• Deliver great services and maintain clear communication with residents.
• Take ownership of residents’ issues and strive for high customer satisfaction.
• Work to high health and safety standards and promote a safety‑first culture.
• Ensure compliance with risk assessments, COSHH, and site safety checks.
