Job summary

The Hathaway Academy in Grays, Essex, is seeking a Cleaning Operative to join our busy facilities team. This permanent, term-time role is 20 hours per week across 44 weeks per year, on NJC 3 scale. The successful candidate will perform cleaning and sanitisation of the building with safety at the forefront.

You will have basic cleaning experience, literacy and numeracy, and the ability to work on your own initiative or as part of a team. An enhanced DBS check will be carried out.

Qualifications

• Basic cleaning methods and use of equipment are required.
• Good literacy and numeracy are needed.
• Ability to work on your own initiative and within a team.
• Strong commitment to Health & Safety in a school environment.

Responsibilities

• Undertake day-to-day cleaning and sanitisation of the building and facilities.
• Ensure Health & Safety compliance at all times.
