Job summary

The Hathaway Academy in Grays is seeking a part-time Cleaning Operative to maintain cleanliness and hygiene across the school environment. The role involves 10 hours per week during term time, with afternoon shifts from 3:00pm to 5:00pm, Monday to Friday, at NJC 3 scale.

You will join a supportive cleaning team, ensuring health and safety standards are met and contributing to a positive learning environment for students and staff.

Qualifications

• Experience in a similar environment with basic cleaning methods and the use of equipment.
• Good literacy and numeracy.
• Ability to work on your own initiative and within a team.

Responsibilities

• Day-to-day cleaning and sanitisation of the building and facilities.
• Ensure Health & Safety compliance in the cleaning process.

The Hathaway Academy are looking to appoint an individual to undertake day to day cleaning and sanitisation of the building and facilities, always ensuring Health & Safety compliance. The successful candidate will join our academy which is dynamic and inspiring, creating a culture of outstanding success amongst our students.

To succeed, you will have previous experience in a similar environment with basic cleaning methods and the use of equipment. You will have a good standard of literacy and numeracy and the ability to work on your own initiative and within a team. We are keen to secure a positive Cleaning Operative who can make a telling contribution to our team. The department is part of a well-led, mutually supportive cleaning team and the appointed candidate will work collaboratively with colleagues and will be supported by a Catering Supervisor, and strong SLT.
