Job summary

The University of Edinburgh is seeking an enthusiastic ECC Backshift RVN to join the Hospital for Small Animals. Working within the 24/7 Emergency and Critical Care Service, you will stabilise and care for emergency and critically ill patients across wards, ICU and surgical suites, on a rolling 4 on/8 off backshift.

The role is fixed-term for 14 months (maternity cover) with pro rata salary, benefiting from a comprehensive staff package and generous leave entitlements.

Qualifications

• RCVS-registered veterinary nurse qualification.
• Experience in emergency and critical care.
• Willingness to work backshift and share annual leave in pod.

Responsibilities

• Care for emergency patients in ICU, wards and surgical suites.
• Support 24/7 Emergency & Critical Care service delivery.
• Assist clinical teams and monitor patient stability.
