Job summary

The City of Edinburgh Council is seeking an Early Years Assistant at Star of the Sea RC Primary School in Edinburgh. The post offers 21 hours per week across 39 weeks per year, with pro rata salary of 26,806–27,032 pounds depending on hours worked.

The successful candidate will support educational, care and welfare needs of nursery children and assist with meals and basic duties. Applicants should have SSSC registration or equivalent, plan and communicate effectively, and gain SVQ level 2 within

Qualifications

• Experience in Early Years Assistant desirable.
• Must be registered with SSSC or equivalent and gain SVQ level 2 within 3 years.
• Good basic education and maths/english to SQA standard grade level or equivalent, or relevant experience.
• Good communication skills, verbal and written, plus planning and organisational skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist in meeting the educational, care and welfare needs of the children.
• Perform some domestic duties including basic food preparation and helping with serving meals to nursery children.
