Job summary

The City of Edinburgh Council is recruiting an Early Years Assistant for Craigroyston Primary School in Edinburgh. This part‑time role is 12 hours per week over 39 weeks per year, with a pro rata salary of £26,806–£27,032.

You will work with the early years team to support children in play and learning, assist with care and welfare needs, and help implement daily routines and records. The post is regulated work with PVG scheme and pre‑employment checks apply; inclusive policies welcome

Responsibilities

• Support children in the playrooms and throughout the learning environment with organised activities and encouragement.
• Assist teachers and early years staff in delivering learning activities, language, maths, health and wellbeing support.
• Support the day-to-day operations of the school/early years centre as directed by senior staff.
• Provide care and assistance for children with additional support needs following individual care plans; promote independence and safety.
• Assist with record keeping, attendance at meetings, and contributing to child programmes and learning profiles.
