Job summary

British Heart Foundation in Washington is seeking a part-time Warehouse Assistant to support our busy Home and Fashion stores. You will sort, check and prepare donated items for sale behind the scenes, not just till work.

You’ll help keep the shop floor stocked and ensure safe handling of items as part of a fast-paced team committed to funding life-saving research. You will work 21 hours per week with weekend and bank holiday availability on a rota basis, and the role involves physical handling

Qualifications

• No prior retail experience required.
• Must be able to guide volunteers and work within a team.
• Physically demanding role involving lifting and moving heavy items.

Responsibilities

• Sort donated items and prepare them for sale.
• Keep the shop floor well stocked and tidy.
• Follow safety regulations and promote wellbeing.
• Identify unsaleable donations for recycling and proper disposal.
