Job summary

British Heart Foundation stores in Sunderland are seeking a part-time Stockroom Assistant. You will sort and prepare donations, help stock the shop floor, and support a fast-paced retail operation.

The role involves manual handling and weekend/holiday work on a rota basis in a busy furniture store. We’re looking for reliable team players who keep the stockroom and shop floor tidy, follow safety rules, and assist volunteers.

Qualifications

• Teamwork and communication with colleagues and volunteers.
• Attention to detail in sorting and stocking donated items.
• Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced retail environment.
• Comfortable with manual handling and moving large items.
• Customer-focused service with flexible weekend availability.

Responsibilities

• Organise donated items and prepare them for sale/ handling and moving deliveries arriving in stores.
• Ensure shop floor is well stocked at all times.
• Follow safety regulations and promote health, safety and wellbeing.
• Identify unsaleable donations for recycling.
• Keep stockroom tidy and well organised.
