Job summary

British Heart Foundation in Southend is recruiting a part-time Warehouse Assistant (12 hours per week). You’ll sort, check and prepare donations for sale behind the scenes, in a fast-paced team where no two days are the same.

No prior retail experience is required, and you’ll guide volunteers while working safely, lifting large items and moving stock. Weekend and bank holiday shifts are on a rota basis.

Qualifications

• No formal retail experience required.
• Able to guide volunteers within a team.
• Comfortable working under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
• Attention to detail in handling donations and stock.
• Physically able to move large items and stock.

Responsibilities

• Sort and prepare donated items for sale behind the scenes.
• Keep shop stock well stocked on the shop floor.
• Follow safety regulations and promote wellbeing.
• Identify unsaleable donations for recycling.
• Keep the stockroom tidy and organised.
