Role: Part-time Director of Advocacy/Policy (Islamic Legal Charity, Remote Working within the UK)
Location: Remote within the UK
Civitas Recruitment is delighted to be working with a forthcoming non-profit organization focused on protecting and advancing the rights of Muslims across the UK. An exciting opportunity exists for a Part-Time Director to join the team. The role involves leading the organization’s vision and strategic direction, overseeing litigation that sets legal precedents, and driving research and policy initiatives to influence debate and decision-making. The position is part-time, permanent, home-based within the UK, with meetings and events in London.
Who are we looking for?
Ideal candidates will have senior leadership experience in a legal, policy, or advocacy organization with a proven track record of strategic delivery and managing external partnerships. A strong understanding of UK legal and political issues affecting Muslim communities, including civil liberties, counter-terrorism, and discrimination, is essential. Candidates should be confident communicators with experience in public representation and excellent written and verbal skills. Experience in fundraising, donor engagement, and knowledge of non-profit operations or governance is advantageous but not mandatory.
