Role: Part-time Director of Advocacy/Policy (Islamic Legal Charity, Remote Working within the UK)

Location: Remote within the UK, with meetings and in-person events in London

Civitas Recruitment is working with a forthcoming non-profit organization focused on protecting and advancing the rights of Muslims across the UK. An exciting opportunity exists for a Part-Time Director to lead the organization’s vision and direction, oversee strategic litigation, and drive research and policy initiatives.

This is a part-time, permanent, home-based role within the UK.

Responsibilities:

1. Lead the organization’s strategic vision and direction.
2. Oversee strategic litigation to set important legal precedents.
3. Drive research and policy initiatives influencing debate and decision-making.
4. Ensure accessible advice and guidance for individuals navigating legal or civic challenges.

Candidate Profile:

• Senior leadership experience in a legal, policy, or advocacy organization.
• Proven track record of strategic delivery and managing external partnerships.
• Strong understanding of UK legal and political issues affecting Muslim communities, including civil liberties, counter-terrorism, and discrimination.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience with fundraising, donor engagement, and knowledge of non-profit operations or governance is advantageous but not essential.
