Dunnock View, Tendring, Clacton-on-Sea (CO16 0BX) within the Elysium Healthcare network, is seeking a Dietitian to deliver Nutrition support in a secure mental health setting. You will assess, plan and implement nutrition interventions for adults with varied mental health conditions.
The role is part-time (22.5 hours/week) with opportunities for professional development, supervision, and multidisciplinary teamwork to support recovery and wellbeing.
Are you a compassionate Dietitian with experience of working with people with mental illness? Join the team at Dunnock View, a service providing treatment for men and women who may have suffered trauma and are affected by mental health disorders. You will support service users within the hospital’s secure mental health services with a range of conditions working as part of a uni-professional and multi-professional team. This position is part time, working 22.5 hours per week. With experience from the NHS and/or private sector, you will manage a complex caseload, which will see you create individual rapports with service users as you learn about their health concerns, goals and dietary restrictions and preferences to create a healthy nutrition plan. As a Dietitian, you will deliver and offer contributions to the development of the specialist treatment plans and pathways as you maintain close contact with local community teams. Working alongside a multidisciplinary team, you will contribute to the delivery of the service, offering assessment, formulation and treatment to people and their families/carers. You will act as a key link between the nursing team, the catering department, leading on the management of the dining room and nutrition support strategies on the unit. A trauma-informed care model is used to focus on length of stay to make sure individuals are able to move as quickly and safely as possible from the service to the most appropriate and least restrictive environment for them. Service users could be suffering from Acute mental illness, Psychosis, Schizophrenia, Bipolar, Personality Disorder, Dual diagnosis, Self-harm, Substance misuse issues.
