Job summary

prosource.it is seeking an experienced Privacy Specialist to lead regulatory compliance and data protection initiatives from its Aberdeen-based team. The role focuses on UK GDPR compliance, policy development, risk assessment, and DPIAs for new projects, with strong emphasis on incident response and audits. A relevant degree and privacy certification are preferred.

The position is part-time, 2 days per week, with hybrid Aberdeen working arrangements and a competitive day rate for contractors.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Law, Information Technology, or related field.
• Professional privacy certification (e.g., CIPP/E, CIPM) preferred.
• Proven experience in UK/EU privacy roles with strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with UK data protection laws, GDPR, and other privacy regulations.
• Policy Development: Develop, review, and update privacy policies and procedures.
• Risk Management: Identify privacy risks and implement mitigation strategies.
• Data Protection Impact Assessments: Lead and conduct DPIAs for new contracts, projects and technologies.
• Incident Management: Manage privacy incidents and breaches.
• Audits and Monitoring: Conduct privacy audits and monitor compliance.
• Continuous Improvement: Stay updated with privacy trends and laws; propose improvements.
