Job summary

G2 Legal Limited in Aberdeen seeks a Data & Digital Solicitor with 3+ years' PQE to join its team. You will advise on data protection, privacy and commercial matters for a diverse client base, handling DSARs and data rights requests and drafting data processing agreements.

You will work on UK GDPR, EU GDPR and PECR issues, information governance and IT/IP matters, while building strong client relationships and contributing to the growth of the practice.

Qualifications

• 3+ years' PQE in data protection, privacy and information law.

Data & Digital Solicitor (3+ years') - Aberdeen

A highly regarded law firm is looking to recruit a Data & Digital Solicitor to join its team in Aberdeen. This is an excellent opportunity for a Solicitor with experience in data protection, privacy and commercial law to advise on complex matters for a diverse client base across a range of sectors.

The Role

The role will involve a broad range of data protection and digital advisory work, including data subject access requests (DSARs), privacy compliance and data rights management.

Responsibilities will include:

• Advising clients on UK GDPR, EU GDPR, PECR and wider data protection and privacy matters
• Managing complex DSARs and data subject rights requests, including scoping, review, redaction and disclosure
• Supporting clients with privacy compliance projects, data mapping, data protection impact assessments (DPIAs), international data transfers and incident response
• Drafting and negotiating commercial contracts, including data processing and data sharing agreements
• Advising on IT, digital and intellectual property matters
• Building strong client relationships and delivering practical, commercially focused advice
• Working collaboratively with colleagues across different practice areas to deliver integrated client solutions
• Contributing to client training, business development and the continued development of the practice

About You

The successful candidate will have:

• At least 3 years' PQE, with experience in data protection, privacy and information law
• Hands-on experience advising on DSARs and wider data subject rights, ideally involving complex or high-volume requests
• A strong understanding of UK GDPR, EU GDPR and PECR
• Experience drafting commercial contracts and advising on data and digital matters
• Excellent communication and client relationship management skills
• A pragmatic, commercially minded approach, with the ability to manage complex projects and advise on risk

Experience with privacy technology, AI governance, international data transfers or large-scale DSAR programmes would be advantageous.
