Job summary

Abbeyfield Living Society in Sunderland is seeking a dedicated Cook to join Hope Bank View. You will plan, prepare and cook residents' meals from a set menu, taking dietary needs into account.

You will maintain hygiene, manage stock and order supplies, and work as part of a caring team. A valid Food Hygiene certificate is preferred, or you will obtain one within three months.

This part-time role offers 24 hours per week at £12.71 per hour, with benefits and an ongoing induction.

Qualifications

• Certificate in Food Hygiene or willingness to obtain within three months.
• Experience cooking varied, healthy meals for large groups.
• Able to read and write to a good standard.
• Empathetic to the nutritional needs of older people.

Responsibilities

• Plan, prepare and cook meals from the agreed menu, considering dietary needs.
• Ensure stock rotation and safe handling of catering products.
• Maintain kitchen hygiene and clean working areas in line with standards.
• Record catering orders and deliveries to enable audits.
