Job summary

Abbeyfield is seeking a Cook on a Bank Agreement at Woodlands Extra Care, Skipton. You will plan, prepare and cook meals for residents, following dietary needs and menus, while managing stock and ensuring food safety in a busy kitchen.

The role requires a Food Hygiene certificate (or willingness to obtain within 3 months), strong teamwork, and the ability to work well with residents and staff. Competitive hourly pay and pro rata leave are offered.

Qualifications

• Certificate in Food Hygiene or willingness to obtain within 3 months.
• Experience cooking varied, healthy meals for large groups (12–20).
• Strong communication and teamwork.
• Good reading and writing skills.

Responsibilities

• Create healthy balanced menus with resident input.
• Plan, prepare and cook meals according to the menu, considering dietary requirements.
• Ensure safe supply of catering products and timely ordering.
• Maintain stock rotation and control within budget.
• Ensure safe use of equipment and kitchen hygiene; follow COSHH.
• Record relevant food safety records and maintain cleanliness.
