Job summary

Halton Borough Council is seeking a reliable Cook for Millbrow Care Home in Widnes. The role focuses on nutritious, well-balanced meals tailored to residents with individual dietary needs, while maintaining high kitchen cleanliness and food safety standards.

You will work 20 hours per week, support residents’ wellbeing, and collaborate with care staff to ensure optimal nutritional outcomes. The post includes generous holiday entitlements and pension benefits.

• Maintain high standards of food quality, presentation, and portion control.
• Knowledge of International Dysphagia Standardisation Initiative (IDDSI).
• Ensure the kitchen and food preparation areas are kept clean, safe, and hygienic at all times.
• Manage food stock, storage, and rotation to minimise waste and ensure freshness.
• Maintain accurate records in line with food safety requirements.
• Work closely with care staff and management to support residents’ wellbeing and nutritional needs.
