Job summary

Bramley Health’s Heron View Care Home is seeking an experienced Cook to join the team, working on Mondays and Wednesdays from 9:00 to 18:00. You will prepare nutritious meals for service users with dietary and cultural needs, ensuring quality and wellbeing.

You will follow HACCP guidelines, maintain kitchen hygiene, and engage with residents to reflect their food choices. Training opportunities are provided.

Qualifications

• Food hygiene level 2 certification.
• Experience cooking in a care, hospital, or commercial setting.
• Friendly, engaging approach with service users and vulnerable adults.

Responsibilities

• Prepare nutritious meals for service users in line with guidelines.
• Daily cleaning and maintenance of the kitchen and equipment.
• Maintain inventory of kitchen supplies and produce.
• Apply knowledge of HACCP and current food regulations.
• Interact with service users to reflect their food choices.

Heron View is a thirty five bedded specialist care home supporting men with mental health, neurocognitive disorders and acquired brain injury presentations. This is who you will be cooking for.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Nutrition is an important part of providing the perfect care to our service users, and the Cook does just this! You will have all dietary requirements/ cultural requirements, and a genuine interest in the wellbeing of our service users, to serve up meals following these guidelines.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Preparing nutritious meals for service users in line with guidelines/ requirements
• Daily cleaning and maintenance of the kitchen and equipment
• Maintain inventory of kitchen equipment and produce
• Utilise knowledge of HACCP and current food regulations
• Interaction with service users to reflect their food choices

KEY SKILLS

• Food hygiene level 2 certification
• Previous experience of food preparation in a commercial/ domestic/ hospital or care setting
• Warm, approachable personality to engage with service users and vulnerable adults with ease
