Job summary

Stockport Council invites applications for an Experienced Social Worker in Complex Safeguarding. This permanent part-time role (18.5 hours per week) is paid SO3 (£20,588 - £23,289 pro rata) and offers hybrid working at Fred Perry House with some homeworking; office presence expected for more than 50% of your week.

Join a team focused on safeguarding adolescents, with co-location with Police and health, and opportunities to contribute to strategy meetings.

Qualifications

• 2 years post-qualifying experience as a social worker.
• Strong grounding in statutory children’s social work.
• Experience with court processes and understanding of DOLS.

Responsibilities

• Work with children usually over age 10 to assess vulnerability to exploitation, including sexual and criminal exploitation and modern slavery.
• Share expert knowledge with other social workers to raise awareness and support decision-making, including strategy meetings.
• Build relationships with young people who may mistrust professionals, showing creativity, tenacity and patience.
