Job summary

Surrey Choices is seeking a Part-Time Community Transport Driver in Sunbury-on-Thames with regular travel across Surrey. The role centres on safe door-to-door transport for people we support, with shifts totalling 40 hours per week across mornings and afternoons.

Full UK licence with limited points is required, and training for minibus operation and wheelchair safety will be provided. We offer generous benefits including 25 days leave, mileage reimbursement, a pension, and access to Perkbox.

Qualifications

• Clear verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to diffuse difficult situations and write incident notes.
• Willing to be trained to drive a minibus.
• Willing to attend wheelchair safety and restraint training.

Responsibilities

• Provide door-to-door transport to and from services for the people we support.
• Drive a company minibus safely in line with policies and procedures.
• Establish positive, professional relationships with passengers, carers and staff.
• Ensure passenger safety and assist with boarding and alighting as needed.
• Carry out regular vehicle checks and report issues to the supervisor.
• Operate vehicle equipment (steps, belts, clamps, tail lifts) and keep the vehicle clean.
