Job summary

Surrey Choices Ltd is seeking a Part-Time Community Transport Driver to support people with learning disabilities and autism by providing door-to-door transport across Surrey. The role covers morning pickups and afternoon drop-offs, with some overtime and occasional evenings or weekends.

You will drive a minibus, ensure passenger safety, and maintain clear records. A Full UK driving licence with up to 6 penalty points and being 21+ are required for insurance purposes.

Qualifications

• Full UK driving licence with up to 6 penalty points.
• 21+ for insurance purposes.
• Ability to assist passengers into and out of the vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Provide transport to people we support to and from services.
• Drive a company minibus and ensure passenger safety.
• Establish positive relationships with passengers, carers and staff.
• Ensure passenger safety, including helping passengers on and off the vehicle.
• Perform regular vehicle checks and report concerns.
• Operate vehicle equipment (steps, seat belts, wheelchair clamps, tail lifts).
• Report safeguarding concerns to the Senior Community Transport Driver or Community Transport Manager.
• Keep the minibus clean and tidy.
