Job summary

Family Action is seeking two individuals to job-share the role of Assistant Community Shop Manager at Hexham Community Shop. You will assist in driving sales, managing stock, and delivering excellent customer service within a charity retail setting.

You will help grow community ties, support volunteers, and ensure Shop operations align with financial controls and safeguarding policies. The role offers meaningful impact and development within a supportive team.

Qualifications

• Experience in retail, hospitality, or customer-facing environment.
• Experience in charity retail or community-based initiatives.
• Familiarity with Gift Aid.
• Strong people skills and communication abilities.
• Commercial awareness and numeracy.

Responsibilities

• Support the Community Shop Manager in driving sales, profitability and performance.
• Develop local community relationships to encourage donations and footfall.
• Promote Family Action’s mission, values and brand locally.
• Ensure Gift Aid targets are tracked and teams are trained to meet them.
• Maintain financial controls, cash handling and banking according to procedures.
