Job summary

East Riding of Yorkshire Council is seeking a dedicated Support Worker to assist a male client with learning difficulties in daily activities and social outings in the community. The role focuses on companionship, encouraged engagement, and enabling meaningful daytime activities, with sensitivity to memory impairment and anxiety.

You will provide transport where needed, accompany him to appointments and social events, and support emotional well-being.

Qualifications

• Be patient, caring and understanding.
• Have good communication skills (clear and effective).
• Be able to build a positive relationship with the individual to support engagement.
• Be proactive, motivated and able to work on your own initiative.

Responsibilities

• Assisting the individual with accessing activities and spending time out in the community.
• Attending/transporting the individual to social activities.
