Job summary

East Riding of Yorkshire Council is seeking a dedicated Personal Assistant to support an autistic adult in Hessle. You will help him access community activities, attend events, and provide companionship and practical support.

The role requires patience, reliability, good communication, and the ability to work flexibly across weekdays and some weekends. A driver with business insurance is preferred; DBS checks will be required, and some travel across the East Riding may be needed.

Qualifications

• Good communication skills (clear and effective communication).
• Be patient, caring and understanding.
• Able to build a positive relationship with the individual to encourage and support them.

Responsibilities

• Assisting the individual with accessing activities and spending time out in the community.
• Attending/transporting the individual to social activities and appointments.
• Encouraging social interaction and inclusion and providing emotional support.
• Light domestic support.
