Job summary

East Riding of Yorkshire Council is seeking a Direct Payments Worker in Cottingham to support an adult with autism and related needs. DBS/Reference checks will be carried out. Flexibility is essential due to early mornings and occasional changes to swimming times.

Qualifications

• Patience and empathy essential for supporting adults with autism and anxiety.
• Clear communication, speak slowly and clearly, especially when giving instructions.
• Willingness to be flexible with hours and routines.
• Ability to work independently and take initiative.
• Knowledge or experience with autism/ADHD is preferred.
• Driver with own car is required; mileage paid.

Responsibilities

• Assist the individual to access activities.
• Take to swimming training, ensuring timely arrival (early starts up to 04:30).
• Spend time in the community and support social interaction.
