Job summary

ST. GEORGES MEDICAL PRACTICE in Nottingham is seeking a part-time Clinical Coder / Administrator to join the reception and practice team. The role involves coding clinical information into patient records using SNOMED CT codes and providing admin support as required.

You will work with a multidisciplinary team, handle confidential data, and contribute to audits and quality outcomes. The post is 15–22 hours per week and based on site.

Qualifications

• Clinical coder will enter data into patient records using SNOMED CT codes.
• Maintain accuracy and confidentiality of patient information.
• Support admin tasks and frontline teams as required.

Responsibilities

• Accurately clinically code data into the patient record on the clinical system
• Identify relevant clinical information documented in patient correspondence and code accordingly
• Input and extract data to support reports, audits and QOF income
• Highlight timely actions and changes to patient care to clinicians
• File and store records, photocopy documentation as required
• Process incoming correspondence, emails and mail promptly
• Enter data into patient healthcare records as needed
• Conduct system searches to retrieve information
• Maintain a clean, efficient working area
• Assist clinical/management staff with general admin tasks
• Undertake a broad spectrum of admin duties commensurate with the role
• Be an integral part of the general practice team
• Act as a chaperone as required
• Follow safeguarding policies for adults and children
• Support in delivering enhanced services and mandatory training
• Attend annual performance reviews and set objectives with management
