Job summary

Old Swan Health Centre Group Practice seeks a Clinical Coder and Administrator to join its team, working with GPs, nurses and reception staff. The role covers coding patient records, filing correspondence, and entering relevant details into the clinical system, with safeguarding coding and QOF/audit tasks.

Experience in clinical coding or healthcare administration and knowledge of medical terminology are essential.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in clinical coding or healthcare administration.
• Knowledge of medical terminology.
• Awareness of confidentiality, GDPR and information governance.
• Nice to have knowledge of the Quality and Outcomes Framework (QOF).

Responsibilities

• Accurately code clinical records.
• Review incoming correspondence and enter information into electronic patient records.
• Clarify information with clinicians for accurate coding.
• Highlight clinical actions and workflow to the appropriate clinician or team.
• Summarise incoming medical records onto the clinical system.
• Maintain confidential patient records in line with data protection standards.
• Assist with audits, reporting and performance monitoring.
• Carry out KPI administrative tasks and targets.
• Undertake administrative tasks delegated by Clinical Lead and Practice Manager.
