Job summary

CO3061 UPP (East Park) LLP is looking for a Cleaner to join a university campus team. This permanent, part-time role is 23 hours per week, 9am-2pm on Monday and 9am-1:30pm on Tuesday–Friday. The salary is £15,574.57 per annum.

You will clean student accommodation, work to health and safety guidelines, and may be required to cover other sites or additional hours during peak times. DBS checks may be required.

Qualifications

• Experience cleaning in a similar environment.
• Good communication and organisational skills.
• Ability to read and interpret Health & Safety guidance.
• Willingness to work at other sites with notice and overtime when needed.
• Satisfactory vetting including DBS checks.

Responsibilities

• Clean designated student accommodation areas including bedrooms, bathrooms, kitchens and common spaces.
• Vacuum, spot clean, shampoo carpets, sweep and polish floors.
• Wash walls, doors, furniture, radiators and lampshades as appropriate.
• Empty waste bins and remove rubbish to bin store areas.
• During summer, make beds and handle laundered linen.
• Clean internal and external windows, glasses, cutlery and utensils.
• Liaise daily with residents and university staff.
• Follow Health & Safety policies at all times.

Cleaner

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Cleaner to join our team. This is a permanent, part-time position working 23 hours per week from 9am-2pm on Monday and 9am-1:30pm from Tuesday to Friday. The salary is £15,574.57 per annum.

Responsibilities

• Cleaning the designated areas for our student accommodation including bedrooms, bathrooms, shower rooms, kitchens and all white goods contained in the kitchens.
• Vacuum, spot clean and shampoo carpets, sweep and polish floors and clean stairs.
• Wash walls, doors, furniture, radiators, lampshades as appropriate.
• Empty waste bins and remove rubbish from flats to bin store areas.
• During the summer season only: Make beds, including stripping and changing sheeting; collection of laundered linen from store, bag and pack laundry for collection.
• Clean internal and external windows, where applicable.
• Clean and wash glasses, cutlery and cooking utensils, as appropriate.
• Daily liaison with the residents, Residence Managers and associated UPP staff.
• Act in accordance with all Health & Safety policies and practices at all times.

Requirements

We are looking for you to already have experience of cleaning in a similar environment and have great communication and organisation skills, along with an attention to detail and the passion to do an excellent job. You will need to have a good conversational standard of the English language and an ability to read and interpret our Health & Safety guidance. You will also be prepared to work (with notice) at other sites if required and additional hours when the need arises, especially during the main student arrival and departure weekends.

Offers of employment are subject to satisfactory vetting, inclusive of employment referencing covering the past three years and you may be subject to additional vetting and barring checks to ensure your suitability for the role, which could include completing a basic DBS.
