Job summary

St Mary the Virgin CE Primary School in Hartfield invites applications for a Classroom Teaching Assistant (INA/TA) to support pupils with EHCPs under the direction of the Headteacher and SENCO.

The post is 27.5 hours per week, term-time only (39 weeks per year plus annual leave, pro rata). Fixed term to 22 July 2027; interviews on 8 September 2026. DBS and safeguarding checks are required.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering planned learning and enabling pupils to achieve targets.
• Use high-quality strategies to keep pupils engaged.
• Work as part of a team to maintain a safe, stimulating learning environment.
• Support implementation of EHCP under SENCO guidance.

Responsibilities

• Deliver planned learning to help pupils reach individual targets.
• Collaborate with staff to maintain a safe and positive learning space.
• Assist with SEN support and IHCP/EHCP implementation as directed.
