Job summary

Compass Group UK&I is seeking a passionate Chef for Defence on a part-time basis (16 hours per week). You will prepare and serve high-quality food, oversee menu changes, and identify improvements while upholding hygiene and safety standards.

You will supervise a team, maintain inventory, and help develop exciting new menus. This role supports a leading UK service provider with strong focus on customer satisfaction and brand integrity.

Qualifications

• Hold City & Guilds 706/1 & 2 or NVQ equivalent.
• Have a Food Hygiene certificate.
• Experience supervising a team in a kitchen.
• Experience in a similar Chef role and a passion for food.
• Flexible approach to working hours.

Responsibilities

• Prepare high-quality food for clients and customers.
• Oversee and implement menu changes.
• Identify opportunities to improve food services.
• Listen to customer feedback and drive improvements.
• Support creation of new menus and concepts.
• Represent Defence and uphold Compass Group image.
• Monitor inventories to keep kitchens well stocked.
• Oversee kitchen cleaning and hygiene compliance.
• Ensure compliance with Food Handling, Hygiene and Safety regulations.
