Job summary

Compass Group UK&I ESS is seeking a motivated Chef to support Defence with high-quality, customer-focused food service on a 30-hour per week contract. You will prepare and serve meals, help refine menus, and ensure operations run smoothly in a Defence environment.

The ideal candidate holds City & Guilds 706/1 & 2 or NVQ equivalent and a Food Hygiene certificate, with proven supervision experience and flexibility to work across shifts.

Qualifications

• Hold City & Guilds 706/1 & 706/2 or NVQ equivalent.
• Hold a Food Hygiene certificate.
• Experience supervising a team.
• Experience in a similar Chef role.

Responsibilities

• Preparing delicious, high-quality food that delights clients and customers.
• Overseeing and implementing menu changes.
• Identifying opportunities to improve our food services.
• Listening and acting on customer feedback to improve food services.
• Supporting the creation of new menus and creative food concepts.
• Representing Defence and maintaining a positive brand image.
• Monitoring inventories to keep kitchens well-stocked.
• Overseeing kitchen cleaning to maintain hygiene standards.
• Complying with Food Handling, Hygiene and Health and Safety regulations.
