Job summary

Compass Group UK & Ireland is recruiting a Chef on a part-time basis (30 hours per week) to create exceptional food experiences for Defence. You will prepare and serve high-quality dishes, oversee menu changes, and help evolve our food concepts while upholding hygiene standards across a large portfolio of government sites.

The role emphasizes customer service, leadership of a small team, and flexibility to cover shifts in a Defence environment.

Qualifications

• City & Guilds 706/1 & 2 or NVQ equivalent required.
• Food Hygiene certificate required.
• Experience supervising a team is expected.
• Experience in a similar Chef role is expected.

Responsibilities

• Preparing delicious, high-quality food that delights our clients and customers.
• Overseeing and implementing menu changes.
• Identifying opportunities to improve our food services.
• Listening and acting on customer feedback to improve our services.
• Supporting with the creation of new menus and creative food concepts.
• Representing Defence and maintaining a positive brand image.
• Monitoring inventories to keep kitchens well-stocked.
• Overseeing kitchen cleaning to maintain hygiene standards.
• Complying with Food Handling, Hygiene and Health and Safety regulations.
