Job summary

Sodexo is seeking a Part Time Chef at Nuffield Health Glasgow Hospital. You’ll manage a section of the kitchen, prepare high-quality meals, and support patient wellbeing. This role suits someone who thrives in a fast-paced settings and wants to contribute to a purpose-driven team.

You’ll work a 22.5 hour week with a 3-days-in-7 pattern and 1 in 3 weekends. Permanent contract, free parking, meals on shifts and uniform provided accompany competitive pay and benefits.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 or equivalent and Food Safety certificates (level 3 desired).
• Experience preparing and serving fresh food in a catering, hospitality or healthcare environment.
• Strong work ethic, punctuality and time management.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately.
• Knowledge of food hygiene, health & safety practices.

Responsibilities

• Deliver a high-quality food service to patients, visitors and colleagues.
• Prepare and serve fresh food in line with company standards, food safety requirements and budget guidelines.
• Follow all health & safety, food safety and safeguarding procedures at all times.
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness, hygiene and organisation across all kitchen and service areas.
• Respond promptly to customer feedback, escalating concerns and taking appropriate action where required.
• Support stock security, minimise waste and report any incidents, accidents or food safety concerns.
• Work flexibly to support the team, including covering absences, attending training and assisting with special events when needed.

What you bring:

• Experience preparing and cooking fresh food in a catering, hospitality or healthcare environment.
• A positive attitude, strong work ethic and willingness to learn.
• Excellent punctuality, attendance and time management skills.
• The ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately and efficiently.
• A strong understanding of food hygiene, health & safety and safe working practices.
• High standards of personal hygiene, cleanliness and attention to detail.
• Experience completing food safety or HACCP documentation is desirable
