Job summary

Peterborough College is seeking a Technician Trainer for Catering / Hospitality to deliver practical sessions and support students in acquiring industry-ready skills at Peterborough campus. The role focuses on hands-on learning, equipment upkeep and safe working practices within a busy hospitality environment.

You will work with teaching staff to facilitate sessions, supervise learners, and maintain a professional workshop.

Qualifications

Experience within hospitality industry essential.
Excellent organisational and communication skills.
Level 2 English and Maths required.
Teaching qualification or vocational qualification beneficial.
Proactive and able to work with young people.

Responsibilities

Support teaching staff in delivering practical hospitality and catering activities.
Assist learners during vocational and practical training sessions.
Supervise learners and ensure health and safety procedures are followed.
Maintain and inspect specialist equipment.
Keep workshops clean, safe and organised.
Monitor stock levels and inventories.
Participate in risk assessments and safe working practices.
Coordinate maintenance of catering equipment.
Adapt to a busy learning environment.
