Job summary

Northumberland County Council is seeking a Catering Assistant to join our Facilities team at County Hall, Morpeth. The role covers food preparation, serving customers, barista tasks, washing up and cash handling with an electronic till. Part-time hours (20 per week) are 8am–4pm, with a focus on food safety and HACCP requirements.

Qualifications

• Working knowledge of a catering environment, including HACCP, food safety and health and safety principles is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Food preparation and basic cooking.
• Serving customers and replenishing fridges and displays.
• Use of a traditional barista style coffee machine.
• Cleaning duties as required and sorting deliveries.
• Washing pots and dishes and cash handling using an electronic till system.
