Job summary

Northumberland County Council in Newbiggin is seeking a Community Hub Support Assistant (Catering) to work 15 hours per week, Monday to Friday 4pm–7pm, on a fixed-term basis until 31.03.29. You will serve food and drinks in the cafe and bar, assist with bookings, and help keep the hub welcoming and safe for all users.

Applicants should have a good general education, numeracy and literacy, with awareness of health and safety. Bar and hospitality experience is desirable but not essential.

Qualifications

• Awareness of health and safety practices.
• Basic food hygiene knowledge or certification (desirable but not essential).
• Bar and hospitality experience, including handling food and drinks (desirable but not essential).

Responsibilities

• Serving food and drinks in our cafe and bar.
• Basic food preparation and making coffees on our barista machine.
• Assisting with bookings and maintaining a friendly environment for all hub users.
• Carrying out light cleaning and safety tasks to keep the hub in great shape.
